Body Cameras Up and Running With Monmouth Police Department

Share

Body cameras are in full use with the Monmouth Police Department, shares Communications Director Ken Helms:

“That was a state requirement that actually kicks in at the end of this year, we just wanted to stay ahead of it. It was brand new body cameras from a company called GTAK. We were actually the first in the United States to get this model. It has worked out very well. The police have had a number of different incidents where review was requested from a citizen or just needed to get a little bit of background and it has come in very handy.”

The body cameras must be turned on and recording anytime a police officer is interacting with the public.
