Mrs. Holly Price, 90, of Galesburg, Illinois died Monday, September 23, 2024, at Seminary Manor in Galesburg.
She was born February 7, 1934, in Galva, Illinois to Howard P. and Evelyn (Strand) Hawks. She married Rodger Olson in 1952 in Galva. She later married the love of her life, Harry Price on June 29, 1973, in Galva. They shared 38 years of marriage until his passing on October 2, 2011.
Surviving is a son, Wayne (and Joann) Olson of Altona, Illinois, a step son, James (and Cheryl) Price of Omaha, Nebraska, two daughters, Janet (and Calvin) Whitman of Rio, Illinois and Carol (and Troy) Behymer of Galesburg, a step daughter, Linda (and Rick) Simmons of Bloomington, Illinois, five grandchildren, Becky Foley (Scott Drazewski) of Bloomington, Illinois, Michael Olson of Oneida, Illinois, Jordan Price Eveloff of Omaha, Nebraska, Krista (and Nathan) Clark of Dahinda, Illinois, and Tessa (and George) Brown of Galesburg, seven great grandchildren, Hannah, Lillie, Will, Sophia, Price, Aspen, and one on the way, due on Holly’s birthday, and a special friend, Jack Zefo of Galesburg. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Holly was raised in Galva and had graduated from Galva High School in 1952. She was a homemaker, taking care of her children and her husband, Harry, who worked as a plumber and pipefitter. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Galesburg. She enjoyed golfing and was a member of the 18 Holer’s and the 9 Holer’s golf league at Bunker Links Golf Course. She also enjoyed bowling in several leagues in Galesburg. She enjoyed her social time with her Card Club ladies. On Friday nights, she and Harry loved to go out dancing. Holly loved spending time with her family and was a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff and administration of the Kensington, Seminary Manor and her hospice caregiver, Alanna Nalley, for the compassionate care they gave to Holly.
A visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service Galesburg Chapel. The funeral will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Deb Epley officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
