Arthur E. Davies, 87, of Little York, IL, passed away at 1:55 a.m., Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL.   

Arthur was born September 30, 1937 in Monmouth, IL the son of Evan E. and Bertha (Pratt) Davies.  He was raised and educated in Little York and graduated from Little York High School in 1956.

Arthur served with the United States Air Force from August 15, 1958 to July 31, 1962.

He married Margaret “Peggy” Tieken on August 14, 1960 at the Sugar Tree Grove Church in rural Monmouth; she preceded him in death on August 13, 2000.

Survivors include his son, Mark Davies of Monmouth, IL; his daughter, Angela (Greg) White of Edwardsville, IL; three grandchildren, Maria (Mike) Schmidt, Courtney (Nate) Lynch and Cody White; great grandchildren, Laurel Schmidt and Luke Schmidt; his brother, Trevor (Laura) Davies of Little York, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dylis and her husband, Maurice McCutchan and nephew, Brian Davies.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 8, 2024 at the Alexis Cemetery, Alexis, IL.  Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Maple City Baptist Church in Monmouth and can be sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL, is in charge of the arrangements.  For more information or to leave an online condolence please visit, www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com.
