Jane Margaret Hottle, 66, of Monmouth, IL passed away on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at her home.
She was born May 9, 1958 in Monmouth, the daughter of Bufford W. and Vivian S. (Shugart) Hottle. She lived in Lincoln, IL, and spent her growing up years at the Lincoln Development Center, LDC.

Jane enjoyed taking art classes while at the LDC and made many paintings, cross stitch pictures and latch hook rugs. She loved to participate in Special Olympics, winning many gold medals for long jump, softball throw, walking and running races. She also enjoyed traveling, country music, coloring, drawing, bowling and riding “Pete” the horse at Rainbow Riders.

When LDC closed, she moved home to Monmouth and into one of the group homes of Warren Achievement Center. Jane worked and attended classes at Warren Achievement Industries.

Jane was a devoted daughter, sister and aunt who loved her family and loved meeting new people. She spent every holiday with her family either singing with her mother, Vivian, at Larry and Doris Dye’s home or attending the 4th of July breakfast and watching fireworks with her Gillen family. She adored watching her great nephews, Royce and Bayler Gillen, opening their Christmas presents. Her cousin Mary Ann Horrell Keyton, never missed a holiday with a card or a box full of goodies.

She was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church of Monmouth.

Survivors include her sister, Geneen (David) Gillen; her brother, Bufford Hottle, both of Monmouth; nieces and nephews, Brandon (Amy) Gillen, Tyler (Lindsey) Gillen, Amanda Gillen, Hallie (Nick Doren) Hottle, Hannah (Keenan) Cave and Dalton (McKaylee) Hottle; 9 great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Tammie Hottle.

Jane was loved by everyone she met and she will be missed.

A Gathering of Family and Friends will be from 1:00-2:00 pm Monday, December 2, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Graveside services will be  2:30 pm at Warren County Memorial Park. Memorials may be given to Warren Achievement Center and sent to the funeral home.
