Angela Renee Rankin, age 26, of Raritan, Illinois, passed away at 6:04 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024 at her home.  She was born November 17. 1998 in Burlington, Iowa, the daughter of Michael and Nancy Willson Rankin.

Angie was a 2017 graduate of West Central High School in Biggsville, Illinois.  She loved crafts, kids, and bringing joy to other people.  She had a contagious laugh and a way of making a positive impression on everyone she met.  Her favorite super hero was Spiderman, and she also loved Disney movies.  She was an avid Harry Potter fan and was a member of the Gryffindor House.  She loved her cat, Nala, and especially loved her best friend since grade school, Joni Lafary.  She was baptized and confirmed at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, near Raritan.

Survivors include her parents of Raritan, one sister: Kristen (Patrick) Thalken of Iowa City, IA, grandparents: John and Eleanor Willson of New London, IA, several aunts and uncles, including: Gregory (Margo) Rankin, Therese (Dennis) Dexter, Beth Rankin, James (Thelma) Rankin, Ron (Eva) Rankin, numerous cousins, and her beloved cat: Nala.  She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Dean and Helen Rankin.

Friends may call at Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst beginning at noon on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. followed by at funeral service at 6:00 p.m., conducted by Deacon Joe McCleary.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday December 11, 2024 in the Elmwood Cemetery in Morning Sun, Iowa.  Memorials have been established for the Ronald McDonald House and University Of Iowa Stead Children’s Hospital.  Please visit Angie’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to leave a condolence.
