Mrs. Patricia Mae Van Dyke, 86, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at 3:02 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2024, in Galesburg.

She was born March 17, 1938, in Galesburg, Illinois to Leonard and Mary (Oberheizer) Gustafson.

Surviving is a son, David H. (and Judy) Cole of Texas, two daughters, Deborah (and Martin) Brobst of Galesburg and Christina (and Anthony) Law of Galesburg, four grandchildren, Stephanie, Joshua, DeAndre, and Faythe, and a great granddaughter, Lilly. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Leonard Gustafson and James Gustafson.

Patricia attended Galesburg High School. Her whole life was based on being a homemaker, always being available for her children and grandchildren for all their events. She was a member of the First Church of God in Galesburg where she was in the choir and volunteered for many church functions. Patricia enjoyed watching wildlife, squirrels in her yard and driving around to find deer.

As Patricia requested, cremation will be accorded. Her family will host a private family celebration. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel are assisting her family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
