Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Dec. 1, 2024:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Ethan Clark. Ethan played a solid four games in the Orion Tip-Off Classic Tournament. He led the Titans in scoring for the week, averaging 14 points a game. Ethan had a game-high 22 points and six, 3-pointers in a win over Ridgewood.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Trent Raymond. Trent averaged nearly a double-double through 5 full games at the ROWVA/Williamsfield Thanksgiving Tournament. He scored 11 points and hauled down nine rebounds per game. Trent also protected the rim as well, averaging almost two blocked shots per game.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Hayden Eisnnicher. Hayden showed up in a big way in a win over Henry-Senachwine. He poured in a career-high 30 points and also pulled down 9 rebounds. In the five games at the ROWVA/Williamsfield Thanksgiving Tournament, Hayden averaged over 13 points and over seven rebounds.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior girls bowler, Madisyn Fowler. After qualifying for the IHSA state finals as a sophomore, Madisyn picked up pins right where she left off, placing 4th overall at the Rock Island Invitational. She rolled a 6-game score of 1148, with two of the top eight 3-game series. Madisyn scored over 200 in two of the games.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Jacob Hall. Jacob led his team in several categories in the season opening Orion Tip-Off Classic Tournament. He averaged 11 points and five rebounds, which were tops on the club. Jacob was also a menace on the defensive end leading A-Town in blocked shots and 2nd in steals.
