Jayne M. Seitz, 67, of Oquawka, IL, passed away at 8:45 a.m., January 29, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family.
Jayne was born on June 11, 1957 in Burlington, IA, the daughter of Dean and Carol (Magee) Thompson. She was raised and educated in Henderson County and graduated from Union High School in 1975.
Jayne first married Roy Myers, Jr. in 1975, and they later divorced. She married Larry E. Allen on December 12, 1980, and to this union she was blessed with 2 children (Julie & John), they later divorced. In July of 2003 she married the love of her life, Larry R. Seitz, from this union she was blessed with 3 bonus sons (Larry, Travis, and Dustin).
Jayne worked as an Insurance Agent at Stanton Insurance in Oquawka for 15 years until her retirement in June of 2024. She was an avid reader. Jayne served on the Oquawka Township Board for many years. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family and her beloved dog, Josie.
Jayne is survived by her children, Julie (Matt) Peterson of Macomb, IL, John Allen of Bald Bluff, IL, Dusty (Quincy) Seitz of Charlotte, NC, Larry (Lisa) Seitz of Atlanta, GA, Travis (Aliesha) Seitz of Port St. Lucie, FL; her grandchildren, Afton Becerra, Ian Peterson, Caiden Allen, Lily May, Vicotria Seitz, Gavyn Seitz, Nadia Seitz, Kiely Seitz; her mother, Carol Thompson of Oquawka, IL; her siblings, Janet Stubbs of Oquawka, IL, Jim (Kathy) Thompson of Oquawka, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; husband, Larry Seitz; brother-in-law, Jerry Stubbs, and one nephew, Justin Stubbs.
A Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Mama’s Place (1002 North 7th St., Oquawka, IL 61469). Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials can be made to the Jayne Seitz Memorial Fund and can be sent to the funeral home. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
