Monmouth-Roseville Girl’s Strength of Schedule Ramps Up Even More in Second Half

Share

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan girls basketball team is currently sitting at (12-5) overall and (3-1) in the TRAC West Division. The Titans won the Cliff Warkins Memorial Holiday Classic Tournament over the holiday break, defeated West Central 78-33 and then took one on the chin in the first of two regular season meetings against division-leading Sherrard this past Monday. Sherrard is now (4-0) in division play. Oddly enough, Monmouth-Roseville has only played in front of a home crowd at Monmouth-Roseville High School only two times in the first 17 games. The back half of the schedule is loaded with home contests, many of which is against solid competition. Titan head coach Scott Weber has been pleased with his team’s performance during the first part of the regular season schedule but knows that although they’ll be at home several times in the next couple of months, the strength of schedule ramps up, as well. He said they are ready for the challenge.

The Titans hit the road on Thursday night, as they to to Rockridge High School for a TRAC West game against the Rockets. This will be the 3rd meeting between the two schools already this season. Monmouth-Roseville is (2-0) against Rockridge, so far. Following that, the Titan girls will be at home on Saturday afternoon for a non-conference game vs. the Ridgewood Spartans at 2:30. We’ll have that one on the PCSN. And then the schedule really cranks up with games at home against (14-4) Alleman on Monday, on the road at (12-5) Macomb on Wednesday, a West Division home game against (11-5) Riverdale on a back-to-back on Thursday and finally at (12-6) Brimfield a week from Saturday.
