Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending Jan. 12, 2025:

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior boys bowler, Kaleb Kirkpatrick. Wow, what a night for Kaleb in a dual meet at Rock Island’s Backyard Bowl competing with the West Central co-op team. He rolled a 3-game series of 654. Included in that total were two games that Kaleb shot well over 200, at 224 and 241.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior girls basketball player, Rosie Flynn. Rosie was spectacular in a pair of wins over North Fulton and West Central. She averaged a double-double of 10.5 points and 10 rebounds in those victories. It wasn’t just on the offensive end, Rosie also had three steals and two blocked shots.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys bowler, Lucas Wood. Lucas had the best day of his bowling career in a meet at Rock Island’s Backyard Bowl. He had a 3-game personal record score of 520. Lucas also rolled his highest single-game score ever, at 213.

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior boys swimmer, Carson Olson. Carson was as dominant as the entire Streaks squad was at the highly competitive Normal Community Ironman Invitational. He placed first as an individual in the 200 IM and 100 yard butterfly events. Carson also helped Galesburg win the team title by being a part of a winning and 2nd place relay teams.

The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Alex Foutch. Alex is really picking up steam as the season gets into the second half. In two wins last week, he averaged a team-high 14 points a game. Alex was especially good against Ridgewood, pouring in 19 points, making four, 3-point shots.
