Yvette Edna Kemp, 83, of Galesburg, died at 5:50 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025, in Marigold Health Care Center.

She was born August 22, 1941, in Galesburg, the daughter of Lenard Edward “Jim” and Nellie Rosetta (Sargeant) Chesser. She was married to Robert Kemp Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicky E. Kemp (Matt Johnston) of Galesburg; three grandchildren, Jon, Sandy, and James; a sister, Bonnie Delabar of Toulon; and a brother, George Chesser of Wyoming, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Norma Williams; and two brothers, Harry and Harvey Chesser.

Yvette graduated from Galesburg High School in 1961. She worked at Knox Laundry for 11 years. Yvette enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, and crafting with plastic canvas. She will be missed by her family and beloved dog, Pollyanna.

Cremation will be accorded. There will be no visitation or services. Her remains will be buried with her family in the Wataga Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the City of Galesburg to benefit their Lakeside Haunted Trail. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services of Galesburg is honored to serve the family.
