Mrs. Janice Lynn Sundquist, 78, of Knoxville, Illinois died 12:33 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2025, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born on December 1, 1946, in Galesburg to Dorrance Stanley and Jennie Lee (Jones) Johnson.  She married Donald Edward Sundquist on October 24, 1969, in Knoxville. 

Surviving is her husband of 55 years, Donald Sundquist of Knoxville, two sons, Patrick Sundquist of Knoxville and Bradley (and Amanda) Sundquist of Gilson, Illinois, a daughter, Dori Finley of Knoxville, a brother, Gary (and Luanne) Johnson of Oak Run, Illinois, a sister, Dorrene (and Mike) Endicott of Galesburg, a sister-in-law, Susie Johnson of East Galesburg, seven grandchildren, Katie Finley, Kaine Sundquist, Kylie (and Rian Lowe) Sundquist, Keagan (and Elaina Erickson) Finley, Kennedy Sundquist, Kolt Sundquist, and Jordyn Oeth and one great granddaughter, Sierra Finley.  She was preceded in death by her parents, a stepfather, Ed Parrish, and a brother, Bruce Johnson. 

Janice attended Galesburg High School and later graduated from Knoxville High School in 1964.  She worked at Outboard Marine Corporation, Gale Products Division for eight years until 1970.  After leaving Gale Products, she began raising her family.  She later worked for Mobil Gas Station in Knoxville for several years.  She was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.  In her free time, she enjoyed bird watching, especially Hummingbirds, playing Bingo and pulling on slot machines at the gambling boats.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family. 

As Janice requested, cremation will be accorded.  A celebration of life visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Multiple Sclerosis Society.  Online condolences may be shared at www.h-p-w.com
