Earnest Carl Gentry, age 54, of Media, Illinois, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025 at University Of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.  He was born July 11, 1970 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Bo Cullip and Patricia Ann Kirkbride.  On July 23, 1993, he married Charlotte Bigsby in Roseville, Illinois.

Mr. Gentry was a truck driver for many years, and also worked at the Burlington Basket Factory and Shearers Foods in Burlington for a time.  He enjoyed working on engines, fishing, and spending time with his family.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Survivors include his wife, Charlotte, one son Kyle Gentry of Stronghurst, one grandson, Jonah Gentry, two brothers, Ron White of Roseville, IL, Ricky White, one niece, Erin McCannon, and two nephews, Nick and Brandon White.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home of Stronghurst.  A Celebration of Life will be from Noon until 5 p.m. Saturday March 22, 2025 at the MST Fire Station in Media.   Please visit Mr. Gentry’s obituary at banksandbeals.com to leave a condolence.
