Elaine Churchill, 82, of Roseville, Illinois, passed away at 1:51 a.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Goldwater Care of Roseville, surrounded by her family. She was born August 20, 1942, in Avon, Illinois, the daughter of Clare & Ellen (France) Schisler. She was raised and educated in Good Hope graduating from Northwestern High School.

Elaine married Jerry Churchill on May 1, 1964, in Good Hope and he preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children; Tracy (Greg) Lybarger of Roseville, Jim Churchill of Roseville, Katie (John) Steele of Roseville and Sam (Michelle) Churchill of Colchester, Illinois; grandchildren, Jehrid (Kayla), Mya, Lanie, Tyson, Brady, Addy Jo, Kadance great-grandchildren, Jeter and Kynslee, and 7 siblings. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and 1 infant brother.

Elaine worked in food service for her entire adult life. She was also an EMT in the area for many years. She was known as the “Cookie Lady” and was famous for her cookies and pies. She loved to laugh and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. She loved being a mom and grandma, her greatest joy was her family. She enjoyed get togethers with her immediate and extended family. She was of the Christian Faith and attended the Roseville Christian Church.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025, at the funeral home. A time of visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. prior to the services. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Per family request please wear your Chicago Bears attire or casual dress. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Roseville Ambulance Service or Compassus (Hospice) of Galesburg and left in the care of the funeral home.
