He was born on September 4, 1944, in Moline, Illinois to Kenneth Arlo and Fairybelle (Michael) Benham.  He married Mary Shumard on September 25, 1976, in Galesburg.

Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Mary Benham of Wataga, three sons, Daniel Wayne Benham of Oneida, Ryan Keith (and Megan) Benham of Galesburg, and Allen Glenn Benham of Galesburg, a sister, Janice (and Warren) King of Alexis, a sister-in-law, Susie Benham of Rock Island, Illinois, and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Benham.

Kenneth graduated from Alexis High School in 1962.  He then served in the United States Air Force for four years and was stationed in Thailand and Indonesia.  He later attended Blackhawk College.  He was a Carman for Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 35 years and retired on August 31, 2005.  He was a member of the North Henderson United Methodist Church.  Kenneth enjoyed sports, fishing, watching NASCAR with his brother, and building things.  He also liked to tinker around with his antique cars.  He volunteered at the Wataga Senior Citizens which included several projects.  He often volunteered his time helping others.  He loved animals, especially his four dogs.  Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, playing games or just hanging out.
