Lucinda K. “Cindy” Morris, 69, of Galesburg, died at 7:50 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2025, in Seminary Manor.

She was born September 22, 1955, in Galesburg, the daughter of Walter J. and Coleen E. (Davis) Brown. She married Phillip E. “Phil” Morris on June 26, 1976, in East Galesburg. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2023, after nearly 47 years of marriage.

She is survived by two daughters, Heather (Dan) Johnson of Galesburg and Lyndsey (Robert Collinson-Morris) Morris of Abingdon; five grandchildren, Dawson (Lindsey) Johnson, Levi Stoneking, Seth Morris, Noah Morris, and Katy Morris; two honorary great grandchildren; and a sister, Diana (Ken) Gough. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Dakota L. Johnson on January 30, 2007; a sister Julia; and a brother Jimmy.

Cindy worked for many years at Butler Manufacturing Company. After their closure, she went to Carl Sandburg College, where she earned an associate’s degree in early childhood education. She then worked as a pre-school teacher for several years at Creative Childcare Center. After their closure, she worked at Blick Art Materials before retiring in March 2020.

Cindy enjoyed camping and fishing, family gatherings, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Cremation will be accorded. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services of Galesburg. Graveside service will follow in East Linwood Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Jordan Knight officiating. Everyone is invited to a Celebration of Life in honor of Cindy at Harley’s Reception Hall following the burial. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
