Ms. Debra S. Brasmer, 72, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 3:33 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.

She was born February 10, 1953, in Galesburg to George D. and Charlotte (Wheeler) Showalter.  She married Michael McGehee in Keithsburg, Illinois.  She later married Jack Brasmer in Keithsburg. 

Surviving is her mother, Charlotte Gaines of Galesburg, her stepmother, Dottie Showalter of Galesburg, five brothers, David (and Terri) Showalter of New Boston, Illinois, Robbie (and Vickie) Showalter of Galesburg, Scott Showalter of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Matt (and Morgann) Showalter of Galesburg, and Jason (and Logen Hendricks) Showalter of Galesburg, three sisters, Robin Wolford of Galesburg, Brenda (and Pete Garza) Showalter of Galesburg, and Jennifer Showalter of Baltimore, Maryland, special friends and caretakers, Jennifer and Heather Douglas of Galesburg, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her father, George Showalter, stepfather, Richard Gaines, and a brother-in-law, David Wolford. 

Debra graduated from Yates City High School in 1971.  She worked for APAC phone company in Muscatine, Iowa.  She later worked as an assistant manager at the Econo Inn hotel in Galesburg.  She was a lifetime fan of the Green Bay Packers.  Debra enjoyed camping with her family, fishing, sewing, and cooking, especially her fried chicken.  She loved spending time with her family, especially all of her nieces and nephews. 

Cremation will be accorded.  A celebration of life visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2025, at the First Christian Church of Keithsburg, 2003 Main St. Keithsburg, Illinois 61442.  Memorials may be made to the family.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at www.h-p-w.com
