Sheila M. Murphy, 63, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her family. 

She was born on September 7, 1961, in Canton, IL, the daughter of Donald and Carol (Andre) Emery. She was raised and educated in Canton, attending Canton High School.

On December 24, 1981, Sheila married Marion Hugh Murphy in Canton, and he passed away on November 30, 1990.

Sheila worked at Meling’s Motel, Western Stoneware, and as an aid at Nursing Center of Canton. She enjoyed spending time with family and collecting angels. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Galesburg, IL.

Sheila is survived by her daughters, Malinda Barry of Monmouth, IL, Kelly (Jake) Miller of West Point, NY; her grandchildren, Mackenzie Sherwood, Jacob Miller, Mateo Murphy, Allison Murphy, Jordan Miller; her siblings, Robert Emery, Rodney (Marilyn) Emery, Crystal Emery; niece, Kylie Castro; and nephew, Alex Lowe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter, Mindy Murphy.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Memorials can be made to Sheila Murphy Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.
