Mr. William Dale Allen, 81, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 9:24 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the Marigold Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Galesburg.

He was born on February 2, 1944, in Galesburg, Illinois, son of Robert Dale and Martha M. (Heimer) Allen. He married Nellie Fay LeGate on October 9, 1970, in Abingdon, Illinois. She preceded him in death on February 21, 2013.

He is survived by his brother, Paul (and Deena) Allen of Henderson, Illinois, one brother-in-law, John LeGate of Canton, Illinois, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He is preceded in death by both parents and wife, Nellie.

Williams graduated from Galesburg High School in 1963, going on to work at Bob Lindsay’s Auto Center for over 20 years. William was a member of the Henderson United Methodist Church in Henderson.

The graveside service will be at 2:00 pm Friday, June 13, 2025, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Galesburg. Rev. Jeff Uddin will officiate. A Celebration of life visitation will be scheduled at a later date. Memorial contributions in William’s memory may be made to Henderson United Methodist Church.
