Constance Ann “Connie” McGeehon,77, of Monmouth passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025 at the Richard Owens Hospice House in Peoria, IL.

She was born January 23, 1948 in Monmouth, IL, the daughter of Robert E. and Mary Ann (Sarver) Shinn. She was raised and educated in Monmouth attending Monmouth High School.

Connie married Charles “Chig” McGeehon in Little York, IL, on February 22, 1964 and he passed away on May 1, 2023.

She was a farm wife and proud mother. She also worked at Farm King, ShopKo, and helped run the family farm with her husband for years. Connie enjoyed gardening, crocheting, ham radio, and being with her family. She was a member of the VFW, Gerlaw Home Night Extension, Amateur Radio Relay League and Relay for Life. She was of Christian Faith. Connie was known her compassion, selflessness and being a true giver to her family and friends.

Surviving are her 3 sons, Eugene R. McGeehon of Punta Gorda, FL, Charles C. “Chuck” McGeehon of Little York and James “Jamie” B. (Brittany) McGeehon of Stronghurst, Il; 1 daughter, Julia Ann McGeehon Lytle (fiancé, Jeremie Main) of Galesburg, IL; 6 grandsons, Justin, Ashton, Damien, Tanner, Craig, and Chris; 2 great grandchildren, Charlie and Everlee; numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, April Kidd and son-in-law, Rodney Lytle.

Cremation has been accorded. A celebration of life will be announced and held at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Richard Owens Hospice House and sent to the funeral home.
