Miss Jaylynne Landon, 72, of Abingdon, Illinois died at 6:20 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025, at her home.

She was born August 18, 1952, in Galesburg, Illinois to Jay W. and Eleanor V. (Carter) Landon. 

Surviving are her siblings, Cheryl (and Dan) Baggett of Rolla, Missouri, Frank (and Lois) Landon of Abingdon, Dennis (and Lori) Landon of Abingdon, and Marilynne Penn of Abingdon, and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

Jaylynne graduated from Abingdon High School in 1970.  She continued her education and graduated from Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg and then Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois.  She was a schoolteacher in the Abingdon School District #217 for 32 years.  She attended the Church of God of Prophecy in Abingdon.  She was very active with Feed My Lambs and the Abingdon Historical Society. 

Private graveside services were held Monday, July 21, 2025, at the Abingdon Cemetery.  Rev. Jeremiah Barker officiated.  Memorials may be made to Feed My Lambs in Abingdon, the Church of God of Prophecy in Abingdon and the Abingdon Historical Society.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.  Online condolences may be shared at www.h-p-w.com
