Patricia “Pat” Jean Allensworth, 75, of Galesburg, Illinois, passed away surrounded by her beloved family on July 22, 2025.

Born on February 8, 1950, to the late Danny and Gerry (Darrah) Gallagher, Pat graduated from Costa Catholic High School in 1968. She received her Associate in Applied Science from Carl Sandburg College in 1984. She married the love of her life, Doug Allensworth, on July 5, 1985, and together they recently celebrated 40 wonderful years of marriage.

Pat is survived by her husband Doug; her four daughters, Kelley (Jeff) Whitsitt of Alexis, Illinois, Brandy (Bill) Wargo of Aurora, Illinois, Kari (Josh) Wenstrom of Festus, Missouri, and Brittany (BJ) Bushnell of Sheldon, Illinois; her sister Mary Polite of Hilton Head, South Carolina; 12 cherished grandchildren: Riley, Jack, Ty, Toby, Chesney, Cade, Julia, Eddie, Addison, Layton, Reece, and Joey.

A devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Pat dedicated over 30 years of her life as a registered nurse at OSF Saint Mary’s Hospital, where she touched countless lives with her compassion and care. Known lovingly as “Patty” by those who knew her best, she will be remembered for her caring heart and unwavering love for her family.

Pat found joy in spending time with her family, shopping, crafting, and spoiling her dogs. Her love and tenacity will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Cremation rites have been accorded through Hinchcliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors in Galesburg. A private celebration of Pat’s life will be held by her family at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Knox County Humane Society.  Online condolences may be shared at www.h-p-w.com
