Nearly 70 pieces are on display in the Pattee Gallery at the Buchanan Center for the Arts from local and regional artists for the Art from the HeARTland show. Program Coordinator Rebecca Quick shares this year’s Best in Show Award:

“On display in the Pattee Gallery currently, we have the Art from the HeARTland show, which features work from local and regional artists. This year we have nearly 70 pieces on display with Lisa Lesch Morrow taking the Best of Show award for an oil painting titled “Sideways.” This year we debuted a new award, which was the Mary Lynn Shoemaker Memorial Award, which featured an award based on fiber arts. We had probably about 30 pieces, so just under half the show worth of work that is pertaining to fiber arts. The winner for that award was June Galbraith and I believe she is 98 years old this year. Her piece is a tartan blanket for her great, great grandchild who has not been born yet.”

The pieces of the Art from the HeARTland show will be on display through August 29th at the Buchanan Center for the Arts.
