Monmouth College Golf hosted their annual Fighting Scots Invitational this past weekend at Gibson Woods. Sports Information Director Nathan Baliva shares the results:
Connor Watson’s Day 2 score of 68, three under par, stands as the third-best single round in Monmouth College history at Gibson Woods. With his fantastic tournament, Watson was named the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Golfer of the Week.
Actually, the Watson family has had a great week on the golf course. Connor’s younger sister, Reese, a freshman at Macomb High School, took first place in the Prairieland Conference tournament championship on Monday. Her 18-hole score of 79 at Gold Hills Golf Club was five shots better than her teammate, Taylor Mann. The Macomb girls won the conference team title, as well.
