The Medicare open enrollment period begins October 15th and runs through December 7th. To prepare those 65 and older about the new changes and available plans, Strom Center will be holding a series of Medicare Informational meetings, states Executive Director Carol McCrery:
“We will have a meeting on Friday, October 10th at one o’clock to three o’clock at Strom Center in Monmouth. On Tuesday, October 14th from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at Strom Center in Monmouth. Then in our Oquawka site, we will be meeting on Tuesday, October 14th at 1 to 3 pm. We are also going to make a presentation at the Gladstone Health Department on Thursday, October 9th at ten o’clock in the morning. We also have enrollment dates in Stronghurst at the Stronghurst Senior Center on Friday, October 24th from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm and then at the Roseville Community Center on Friday, November 7th from 10 am to 1 pm.”
Yellow medication forms are available for pick up at Strom Center, which will then be reviewed in the order they are returned. Last year, Strom Center staff saved local seniors over $1.2 million in Medicare costs.
