Monmouth Roseville Girls Basketball is finally back after winning their second regional in program history last season. The Titans graduated a very good senior class, and leading returning scorer Layla Katile suffered an injury over the summer that will keep her out this season, but the Titans will still look to build on last year’s success.
Monmouth Roseville opened their season last night at the ROWVA/Williamsfield-Ridgewood Tournament, falling to a solid Knoxville squad by a final of 40 to 32.
The Titans are also under new leadership, but it is someone very familiar with the program. This is Don Luper’s first season as the Titans Head Coach, but he has spent many years with the program. Luper says he is excited to take on the long basketball season with his squad:
The Titans are right back on the floor tonight in the Thanksgiving Tournament, taking on Ridgewood at Alwood High School in Woodhull. How the rest of the week shapes up will depend on pool play results tonight and on Friday, with the Titans set for two more games between Friday and Saturday.
