With the start of their next fiscal year to begin on December 1st, the Warren County Board has approved next year’s levy and budget. Board Chairman Mike Pearson breaks down the County’s budget:
“Basically, the first eleven pages of our County budget is called County General. That takes care of the sheriff’s department, the courthouse, the courts, and it uses the income from sales tax and property tax. Just in the County General, essentially we are looking at plus or minus $6 million, just in the first ten and a half pages of the budget. That doesn’t include any highway, doesn’t include animal control. This next year, our total revenues we are looking at $78 million with expenses up of almost $76 million in our county budget, which is now only 64 pages long.”
Additionally, Chairman Pearson informs in December, the Warren County Board will have the new jail resolution in front of them, meaning they can start the bond process and break ground on the new Warren County Law Enforcement Center in the spring.
