The holidays are quickly approaching, which means good times and good food. With all the joys of the season, it is important not to overindulge. Staci Bass, Warren County YMCA Healthy Living Director, shares the YMCA will be holding a five-week challenge over the holidays.
“We’re going to do a maintainer challenge. It’s called Turkey to Tree fitness challenge. It’s super, super easy for anyone to do. Basically, for that five weeks, you have to just maintain your weight. Each week, you’ll be required to walk 10 miles and bike 15 miles, you have all week to do those miles, so you could do a little each day. This is for members and non members, so if you’re not currently a member at the Y, there is a registration fee of $40 for non members, but that allows you the ability to use our Wellness Center during that five week challenge. The money will go for prizes if you complete the challenge, which is all your miles each week, and you maintain within five pounds, then you will receive a shirt from the event and then be registered for some grand prizes from the Y.”
Bass also shares the YMCA will host a blood drive in the AP Room on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, November 26, from 8 a.m. to noon.
