Beverly L. “Bev” Millar, 76, of Monmouth, IL, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at her home.

Bev was born February 25, 1949 in Monmouth, the daughter of Robert W. and Margaret L. “Shorty” (Matter) Allen.  She was raised and educated in Monmouth, graduating from Monmouth High School in 1967. She later graduated from Carl Sandburg College in 1972 with a degree in Nursing.

Bev married John W. Millar on April 18, 1970 at the First Christian Church in Monmouth, and he survives.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Monmouth. Bev worked for a brief time at the Community Memorial Hospital in Monmouth before becoming a full-time homemaker and focusing on raising her family.  She later was the owner of The Clothesline on the square in Monmouth from 1985-1988.

She was a fantastic cook and the ultimate pie maker.  She loved to talk and socialize at numerous coffee and supper clubs.  Her real joy came from spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, John Millar; her children, Michele (Cory) Bizarri of Monmouth, Tammy Millar of Olathe, KS and J.R.  (Trisha) Millar of Galesburg; her grandchildren, Nathan (Amber) Bizarri, Patrick (KateLynn Irlbeck) Grey, Hannah Grey, Courtney (Wyatt Mayor) Bizarri, Lexie Rose Millar and Blake Millar.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother, James Robert Allen.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Monday, December 22, 2025 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth.  Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth.  Visitation will be Monday from 11:00-1:00 pm at the funeral home.  Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and sent to the funeral home.  For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.mcguireanddaviesfuneralhome.com
