Monmouth-Roseville Boys Basketball Open Their Home Schedule on Friday

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan boys basketball team got off to a slow start with the extended run of the football team to the quarterfinals. The Titans decided not to play in the Orion 10 & 32 Tip-Off Classic during Thanksgiving Week. In addition to the late start, they have been without junior Lars Bergren due to a football injury last in the season. Bergren, who suffered a sholder injury, was expected to be a big part of the Titan’s plans this winter. Head Coach Chuck Grant hopes to have him back on the court sometime after Christmas.

Monmouth-Roseville is currently (1-3) overall and will host the Mercer County Golden Eagles in their home opener tonight at Monmouth-Roseville High School. The Titans are coming off a win over Knoxville on Monday and a loss to a very good Canton Little Giant ball club on Tuesday. Grant says they are adjusting on the fly without Bergren and he says he has no doubt his team will be ready to go when Bergren returns.

We’ll have the TRAC West Division match up between the Titans and the Mercer County Golden Eagles tonight on the PCSN. The varsity game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:00. Our Sunny 97.7 WMOI pregame show will start after the completion of the JV game at around 6:30. You can hear the game on the radio, live online at radiomonmouth.com or on our free 97.7 WMOI app for your smartphone or tablet.
