Story by Parker Cassidy
The United Red Storm boys basketball team has not had the start they hoped for, opening the season 1-4 before last night’s road trip to Augusta Southeastern. With only one game on the schedule over the past week, United was finally able to get back in the gym and practice, something they could not do during the Thanksgiving tournament. That work showed last night, as the Red Storm rolled past Southeastern, 72-30. Head Coach Jason Lancaster says he saw some really encouraging things from his group.
United now turns its attention to a busy stretch with the annual Red Storm Holiday Tournament beginning Saturday. United will open the tournament at 3:00 against West Central, then face Geneseo at 7:30 that night. The Red Storm will play Knoxville on Monday at 7:30 in the junior high gym, then wrap up the tournament with two more games, Wednesday against Ridgewood and Friday against West Prairie, both at 7:30.
