With the start of the new year, it is time again for the annual list of the top baby names for Knox County Illinois for 2025. The Knox County Clerk’s office tracks the names of babies born in the County and then compiles the top names for both girls and boys. This year there were 297 girls and 307 boys born in Knox County. The top names for the girls was a tie between Amara, Emery, Harper, Isabella, Josephine, Nova, Oaklynn, Sophia, Stella, and Violet with 3 each. The boys top name was Hudson with 6. The Top Boys list finishes out with Levi with 5, Isiah and Samuel with 4, and Liam with 3.
“It is one of the fun parts of the job to compile the baby names for the year.” Said Knox County Clerk & Recorder Scott Erickson. “You never know what names will come out on top each year.” The Knox County Clerk and Recorder’s office handle many duties for the County including vital records (birth, marriage, and death), property records, manages elections, and maintains the official records for the Knox County Board.
