Medicare Advantage open enrollment is currently underway, giving Medicare recipients the opportunity to make changes to their coverage.
Missie Shepherd, owner of Way Insurance Services, says this is a limited window that only applies to certain Medicare plans.
“What reopened as of January 1 is an open enrollment period that only applies to Medicare Advantage. If you’re in a Part C Medicare Advantage plan, you have an opportunity before March 31 to change your plan one time. And then the effective date would be the first of the month after you do your enrollment. Medicare Part D, this open enrollment period does not apply to.”
