On Thursday, Midwest Bank will host an Ag Seminar at Cedar Creek Hall in Galesburg. Porter Hay Insurance North Co. agent Derek Clayton says there will be two speakers at this year’s event.
“The first one is Steve Johnson from Iowa State, and he’s going to bring up some of the big things, the big changes that are going on on the crop insurance and the farm side. With One Big, Beautiful Bill coming into place, there’s been some changes on the farm side with the subsidies increasing and different changes. And he’s going to kind of provide information for our farmers and provide them with kind of a future plan for this upcoming year,” says Clayton.
“We also have Dave Zimmerman coming in from Big River, and he’s going to give us an overall view of the ethanol industry, especially with some recent changes involving Venezuela.”
