Roger L. Teel, 88, of Monmouth, IL passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 24, 2026.

Roger was born September 5, 1937 in Industry, IL the son of Willard F. and Zelma (Aten) Teel.  He was raised and educated in Industry, graduating from Vermont High School. Following his graduation from High School Roger enlisted with the United States Air Force.

Roger married Janice Miller in Lewiston, IL.  He married Ella J. Wilson on April 30, 1960 and later married Esther Pulse

Roger was an OTR Trucker most of his life.  He worked as a CAN for a short time in Oklahoma.  He lived most of his adult life in Monmouth and was a founding member of the Monmouth Eagles Club where he served as Vice-President, President, Trustee and Bingo Chairman from 1973 until it closed in 2009.

He was a die cast car collector and enjoyed tinkering on lawn mowers.  He volunteered with Special Olympics and the MDA Telethon.  He initiated getting a special wheelchair for a special needs child in Monmouth with muscular dystrophy, he was determined to see it thru even driving down to Georgia to pick up the wheelchair.  There was not a child he wouldn’t help.

Survivors include his children; Donald Wilson, Roganne (Cort) Chambers, Rodney (Bev) Teel, Guy Teel and Gary (Tara) Teel; bonus children, Jimmy (Deb) Pulse, Jerry (Amy) Pulse, and Ronita (Paul) Berg; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; his siblings, Barb Houston, Annie Guest, Susie (Lynn) Carey, Karen (Charlie) Bateman, Robert Teel, David (Tammy) Teel, Vicky Wilcox and Joyce (Charlie) Gallegos; his brothers in law, Bror Jenson and Danny Fisher; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Ricky L. Teel; great-grandson, Dominick Hanneman; his brother, Willard Teel; sisters. Rosie Padilla and Janice Jenson; bonus son, Joe Pulse; bonus daughter, Kim Bush; bonus grandson, Jeremy Chambers; ex-wives, Janice Miller and Ella Teel.

Cremation has been accorded. A Gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00-7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. A private interment will take place at Warren County Memorial Park, Monmouth, IL. Memorials may be given to the Roger L. Teel Memorial Fund and sent to the funeral home.
