Woman Charged in Knox County Domestic Incident

A woman faces charges in a domestic incident in Knox County.  Authorities say deputies were called out Saturday to a home for a medical alert activation.  It was later determined to have been triggered due an assault on the male resident.  The suspect was identified as Elizabeth Meminger.  She was arrested on charges of aggravated battery, aggravated domestic battery, domestic battery, and home invasion.

On January 3, 2026, deputies with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to a residence in Knox County for a medical alert activation, which was later determined to have been triggered during an assault on the male resident. Deputies made contact with the male, who had sustained injuries.

Following an on-scene investigation and subsequent follow-up investigation, a female suspect was identified and taken into custody.

👮‍♀️ ARRESTED – ELIZABETH G. MEMINGER

W/F, 75, of Wataga, Illinois

As a result of the investigation, Elizabeth G. Meminger was arrested by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office and charged with the following offenses:

• Aggravated Battery

• Aggravated Domestic Battery

• Domestic Battery

• Home Invasion

Meminger was transported to the Knox County Jail, where she was processed in accordance with standard procedures.

⚖️ All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
