During Medicare Open Enrollment for 2026 plans, staff at Strom Center assisted about 1,300 people throughout Warren and Henderson Counties, totaling nearly $700,000 in savings, informs Executive Director Carol McCrery:

“We had close to 1,300 people between October 15th and December 7th. There were some other things that we had to do that were time sensitive for persons during that time, but for the most part we asked people if there was a program or an issue that could be delayed until January that we greatly appreciated it, but if that was not case, then obviously we were going to make sure that people’s needs were addressed as they came up. The savings we put in was about $650,000 that we reported. There were a lot of savings that came in after that, so there were people that were on certain plans already that really didn’t need to change them until December 31st. So, if you count those plans, then it was just under $700,000 that we saved between Henderson and Warren County.”

For those with Medicare Advantage Plans, the deadline to make changes to qualifying plans is March 31st, 2026.
