In January, the Warren County Board approved a contract with River City Construction to serve as the general contractor for the new jail, who now are responsible for the construction of the structure and subcontracting projects throughout. Board Chairman Mike Pearson informs the bed capacity has been determined to coincide with detainment categories:

“The total number of beds has been pre-determined since last summer. Basically, in the holding area we will have 60 beds. There will be 30 rooms, two beds each. Essentially, if you have three that are detained for the same thing, they can’t stay in the same area.”

The estimated total cost of the construction of the new Warren County Law Enforcement Center is $21 million.
