Ann was born on February 22, 1946, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Galesburg, Illinois, the daughter of Leroy and Betty Jane (Linder) Armstrong. She married Roger H. Benson on June 3, 1967, in Cameron, Illinois, and together they shared 58 loving years of marriage.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Roger; two sons, Dan (Bree) Benson and Jon Benson; two brothers, Larry (Kathy) Armstrong and Jim Armstrong; four grandchildren, David, Tyler, Logan, and Leroy Benson; and two great-grandchildren, Anberlyn and Daniel Benson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Gary Armstrong.

Ann graduated from Warren High School in 1964 and later attended Brown Business College, graduating in 1967. She worked as a bookkeeper for Lindstrom’s TV before dedicating 37 years to Alexander Lumber Company’s Galesburg district, where she served as both a bookkeeper and advertising manager.

She was a member of the Congregational Church. Ann found joy in cooking and trying new recipes, reading a wide range of books, and traveling to nearly all 50 states. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her husband and family.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation will be accorded. A graveside service will be held at a later date in Abingdon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to establish a memorial fund in Ann’s memory.
