George W. “Bill” Bogener, 67, of Rio, IL, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026 at the Richard Owens Hospice Home, Peoria, IL. 

He was born on October 24, 1958 in Monmouth, IL, the son Virgil A. and Betty Lou (Armstrong) Bogener and John Gary Budd.  Bill was raised and educated in Monmouth and Moline. 

Bill married Ronadene Youngquist on February 23, 1985, in Cameron, Illinois. Together they built a life filled with love and shared memories over 41 years of marriage. Ronadene survives him.

Bill first worked for several years in the oil fields of Oklahoma. He later went on to own and operate his own trucking business, G.W. Bogener Trucking, where he hauled livestock and grain throughout the area. In addition to his work in trucking, Bill was also a dedicated farmer for many years and also owned G.W. Bogener Fencing.

Bill had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a special fondness for animals. He was an avid fan of Oklahoma University football and proudly cheered on the Warren Warriors. Bill always cherished attending his children’s sporting events and rarely missed an opportunity to cheer them on. He also greatly enjoyed his time serving as a softball coach in Cameron, where he took pride in supporting and encouraging young athletes.  Bill was a gentle soul, never drawing attention to himself but always being present when everyone was all together. 

Surviving Bill is his wife, Ronadene Bogener of Rio, IL; his children, Travis (Michelle) Bogener of St. Louis Park, MN, Janet (Tom) Nowicki of Yorkville, IL; his grandchildren, Tommy, Joey, Vinny, and Charley.  Also surviving are his siblings, Jim (Pamela) Bogener of Folsom, CA, Janet (Neil) Bergman of Fresno, CA; sister-in-law, Annie Christian of Monmouth, IL, and several special nieces and nephews.   

He was preceded in death by his parents, his step father, his in-laws, Ron & Willadene Youngquist; three brothers, Tom (Sharon) Bogener, Michael Bogener, Ron Bogener; brothers-in-law, Gary Christian and Steve Youngquist; and sister-in-law, Chris Youngquist.A Gathering of Family & Friends will be from 2:00-4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2026 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL.  Cremation rites have been accorded.  Memorials can be made to the Richard Owens Hospice Home or the Cameron Ball Diamond and can be sent to the funeral home.  McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
