She was born May 5, 1949, in Monmouth, Illinois, the daughter of John E. and Shirley Jean (Tarr) Carson. She married Frank A. Johnson, Sr., in 1964 in Monmouth. She shared her life with Richard “Dick” Dowell of Monmouth, and later with Gerald “Chico” Vanmiddlesworth of Prairie City, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are her four children, Frank (and Pierre Beaudoin) Johnson, Jonna (and Dan) Schaub, Dana (and David) Adcock, and Diana (and Chad) Allen; one brother, Larry Carson; five grandchildren, Victoria Hall, Brendan Case, Olivia Hall, Parker Allen, and Mitchell Allen; very special sisters, Debbie Dobson and the late Vickie Bowen; nieces; a nephew; and cousins. Linda attended Monmouth High School and worked for Maytag Manufacturing Company in Galesburg, retiring after 31 years of service. She was a member of First Christian Church in Monmouth. Linda enjoyed word search puzzles, reading, and spending time visiting with family and friends. She had a special love for animals and cherished the companionship they brought to her life. In her final days at Seminary Estates, she made many, many dear friends with whom she greatly enjoyed spending time.

As Linda requested, cremation will be accorded. No services are planned. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services, Galesburg Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at www.h-p-w.com.
