Jared DeWeese, age 31, passed away on March 14, 2026.

He was born at just 28 weeks and from the very beginning, he showed incredible strength and resilience. Despite the odds, Jared overcame many health scares in his early years, including RSV and a severe case of meningitis that left him with a 106-degree fever. These challenges meant that Jared had the mental capacity of a baby, and he needed 100% care every single day. He never walked or talked, but his presence brought a unique light and love to his family.

Jared was preceded in death by his mother; Wendy DeWeese; grandparents, Betty Moore and Gene DeWeese; and aunt, Rhonda DeWeese. He is survived by his father, Wesley DeWeese; stepmother (and caregiver), Lori DeWeese; brother, Ryan DeWeese; grandparents, Larry and Sheila Lawrence and Dave and Cherish Brammer; aunt, Kathy Brammer; and uncle, Kevin Brammer

A visitation for Jared and his grandmother, Betty, will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services of Galesburg. Graveside services for Jared will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Jared’s memory will remain in the hearts of those whose lives he was a part of. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.h-p-w.com.
