A majority of American farmers say they won’t be able to purchase enough fertilizer this year. That’s according to a new survey from the American Farm Bureau Federation that found 70-percent of farmers said fertilizer is too expensive. There are differences by region, with 80 percent of southern farmers saying they can’t afford it compared to just under 50 percent in the Midwest. Since the start of increased tensions in the Middle East, fertilizer prices have gone up 30 percent.
