Here’s the WMOI/WRAM Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 29th, 2026:
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is sophomore baseball player, Keegan Smith. Keegan pitched a four-inning perfect game in a win over West Central. He faced 12 batters in the game and struck out 10 of them, not allowing any baserunners. Offensively in two games last week, Keegan went 4-for-6 and scored three runs.
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is junior boys track and field athlete, Parker Tinkham. Parker qualified for his first Illinois Top Times Meet in Bloomington. It’s the unofficial high school indoor track & field state finals. Parker’s high jump of just over six feet put him 9th place overall in the event.
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior softball player, Becca Hinshaw. Becca’s hot day at the plate helped the Heat to an impressive 13-1 win over class 3A Galesburg. She went 3-for-4 with 3 rbis and scored two runs, with two of her hits going for extra bases. In the first three games, Becca is hitting .545, all while playing the tough position of third base and leading off.
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys track and field athlete, Antwon Walker. Antwon qualified for his first Illinois Prep Top Times Meet at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington. It’s the unofficial Illinois high school indoor track and field state finals. Antwon jumped 6′ 3.25″ inches which placed him 5th overall.
The Abingdon-Avon Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior softball player, Avery Stegall. Avery had a big day at the plate in a 15-5 victory over Scales Mound. She went 2-for-4, scoring three runs and driving in a run. She blasted a triple in the game, as well. Earlier in the week, Avery went 1-for-3 with 2 rbis and a double in game at Monmouth-Roseville.
