Central Warren Fire Protection District is looking to get younger community members involved in the fire service through their new Explorer program shares Trevor Davies.
“We have started an Explorer program for the Central Warren Fire Protection District. We’re always looking for volunteers, and I know folks have heard us say that before. Our Explorer program is geared towards our younger crowd that’s between 16 and 18 years old, for kids to have an interest in fire service and wanting to be a fireman. They can come and be part of our Explorer program. It’s a great opportunity for young adults interested in learning more about being a firefighter.”
Davies says the program already has five members, and they are hoping to add more young adults who are interested in learning about the fire service.
The Central Warren Firemen’s Association is also getting ready for their annual Half Tank Fest on June 27th in Kirkwood. The event will include a 5K, bags tournament, beer garden, Big Bucks BBQ, Stone Cold Cowboys from 1 to 4 p.m., and Captain Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters from 8 to 11 p.m. Proceeds from the event help support the Central Warren Fire Protection District.
