On Saturday, June 13th at the Pattee Outdoor Pool in Monmouth, AJ and Danielle Cox are hosting their second Annual Pool and Pizza Party from 6:15 to 8:15 pm. Republican Nominee for Warren County Sheriff AJ Cox explains the event is to show support for the local youth and a future Warren County K-9 fund:
“We are trying to raise some funds for the Warren County Sheriff’s Department to be able to get a canine. There is no fee to get in, there is nothing saying you have to donate to the cause or anything like that to come through and swim. The fundraiser part is we are just trying to go through and get other people’s name out there to show that people are very proud of their law enforcement around here and realize that having a canine would be beneficial,” says Cox.
“One of my big goals, I am looking for a lab; just a drug sniffing, searching dog. I feel that if we go through and get a lab of some kind, it is something we can take to the schools, more kid-friendly, and easier to deal with in public. Personally, I don’t feel we necessarily need a “bite dog” per say, we just need a dog to help put a track down for a loved one, searches on a vehicle, or maybe search for a subject inside a house,” Cox adds.
This event is free and open to parents and kids 18 and under. Kids 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult. To ensure there is plenty of food, please RSVP by June 5th at 309-371-3959.
