In communities where access to dental care may be limited or have clinics that don’t accept Medicaid, Eagle View Community Health System’s Mobile Dental Unit provides that care across multiple counties, informs Mobile Unit Coordinator Sabrina Wilson:
“We are very excited to be able to take the mobile clinic to the communities and the patients that have a hard time getting to our clinics, but also to the communities. McDonough County has no dental office that takes Medicaid in their county. Being able to bring the mobile unit there is something that we are very excited about and being able to just bring it there and help them with transportation and everything is going to be a very nice resource for them,” says Wilson.
“We are going to go to every county that we serve, McDonough, Mercer, and Warren County, we are definitely going to hit those right now. There is definitely a ‘dental desert’ in our area, even with the dental offices that we have. We all just do not have the capacity to serve everybody,” Wilson adds.
Eagle View Community Health System serves residents of Henderson, McDonough, Mercer, and Warren Counties in Illinois and those in Des Moines County in Iowa.
