The Turnout annual grant cycle with the Galesburg Community Foundation, which are awarded to nonprofits serving the region in the areas of arts, culture, and community enhancement, opens July 1st. President and CEO Josh Gibb explains how this grant cycle is different from the others:

“The Turnout is an interesting cycle because it is 100 percent funded. If you apply to the grant cycle and you are awarded, you are going to get everything that you asked for. The Foundation created this cycle several years ago now, really with the humility of saying who are they to tell a nonprofit that they can do this program for less than what they ask us. If they are going to ask us and we have the dollars, we should give it to them,” says Gibb.

“The amount that comes out of The Turnout cycle varies based on what individual nonprofits ask us for. What is unique about that cycle is that it is not just the Foundation, we have another fund called Donor Advised Funds. We incorporate all of our Donor Advised Funds into this grant cycle too, which allows an individual to connect to what is important to them,” Gibb adds.
