Lewis R. “Snuffy” Huff, 83, of Knoxville, IL, formerly of Oquawka, IL passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center, Galesburg.

Lewis was born on August 22, 1942, in Burlington, IA, the son of Wendell and Viola (Duane) Huff.  He was raised and educated in Oquawka, graduating from G & O High School.

Following his graduation Lewis enlisted with the United States Navy from 1960-1964.

Lewis married Sandra Shaw and later Jane Gould.

He worked for Maytag in Galesburg for over 30 years, retiring in 1997.

Lewis was a member of the Knoxville American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing the slots.

Survivors include his children, Angie (Jeff) Peterson, Cindy (John) Fedler, Jessica (Jerrod) Sammons and Duane (Milenka) Huff; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Melody Sage; several nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Charles Huff; and his sisters, Donna Taylor and Lorena Avery.
