Beginning the week of June 1st, the City’s Public Works department will launch its annual street painting and pavement striping program. Work is scheduled to run through September 1st, weather permitting.
To complete this vital road maintenance efficiently and minimize traffic disruptions, crews will operate on rotating schedules to restripe city streets, street parking, and municipal parking lots. High-traffic areas will be prioritized during off-peak hours to reduce the impact on drivers.
During operations, chase trucks will actively deploy traffic cones and “Wet Paint” signs to protect the freshly painted lines. For public safety and to prevent vehicle damage, motorists should use caution and not drive over freshly painted lines, cross between support vehicles, or navigate around traffic cones. The city utilizes specialized, fast-drying paint to minimize traffic disruptions, and all temporary parking restrictions and wet paint zones will be clearly marked.
This maintenance work is conducted annually, utilizing a rotating schedule for designated streets and lots to ensure all municipal roadways and parking areas remain highly visible, well-marked, and safe.
